1. Manchester United slammed by Reading FC boss for 'lack of respect'

Reading boss Paul Ince admits he was left 'disappointed' after their 3-1 FA Cup exit to Manchester United after Erik ten Hag failed to invite his staff for a post-match drink.

A tradition upheld by many managers, the opposition bosses tend to sit down and have a drink together after a game.

However, the former Red Devils midfielder revealed that no such niceties were on offer on Saturday- although he did go and spend an hour with the iconic Sir Alex Ferguson in his private suite.

2. Tesco Express:Man, 34, jailed for stealing dishwasher tablets and meat

Reading Chronicle:

A 34 year-old man has been jailed after stealing a variety of food and household items from a local supermarket.

Thames Valley Police reported that Benjamin Frape, 34, of Vale Road in Windsor pleaded guilty to two counts of theft during incidences on January 11 and January 24.

This occurred in Tesco Express in Clarence Road, Windsor and involved theft of items such as meat and dishwasher tablets.

3. Home Bargains gears up to open new store in Reading and applies for alcohol licence

Reading Chronicle:

The company that runs Home Bargains has applied to sell alcohol 24 hours a day at a store it’s preparing to open in Reading.

Home Bargains is gearing up to open at the Brunel Retail Park in Rose Kiln Lane, Whitley.

Ahead of its opening, T. J. Morris Ltd, which owns the store, has applied to sell alcohol on and off the premises 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

4. ‘We don’t want a 3G pitch’ - project on hold after backlash

Reading Chronicle:

‘We don’t want a 3G sports pitch here’ – that’s the message that has been heard loud and clear by decision makers across Wokingham borough.

Back in 2021, Wokingham Borough Council announced that it would be investing £800,000 to build a new sports pitch in the borough, with a particular need identified for all-weather pitches in Earley and Lower Earley.

At the time, the council’s Conservative administration identified Laurel Park as the ‘preferred option’ for the new pitch location.
