A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a fight broke out on Oxford Road last night.

Police were called following reports of a big fight outside the White Eagle pub between 12.45am and 1.15am.

The fight involved a group of white men and women aged in their early 20s and late 30s.

A 38-year-old man was seriously injured in the fight and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector James Humphries, said: “This was a significant disorder, which has left a man seriously injured and in need of hospital treatment.

“We are still trying to establish the exact circumstances of what took place, and as such, information from the public is vital at this stage."

A police cordon has blocked off public access opposite the pub following the incident.

Residents said they spotted forensics at the scene at 8.50am today (Sunday, April 10).

Thames Valley Police believe a large number of people would have witnessed" the incident take place and are appealing to anyone who has information.

Adding: "I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident at all. Specifically many vehicles were using Oxford Road at that time and any dash-cam footage would be beneficial.
