A GORGEOUS 18th century country house will open as a hotel and restuarant later this month.
The Retreat at Elcot Park in Newbury is officially opening its doors on Monday, May 2 with a Pan Asian restaurant and all-day Brasserie.
The hotel is part of hospitality brand The Signet Collection as is located in West Berkshire, a 15-minute drive from Newbury and 10-minutes from Hungerford.

The hotel will have three private dining spaces and two restaurants: Yü, a Pan-Asian restaurant, and 1772, an all-day-dining Brasserie.
On Friday, April 29, The Retreat will launch Yü restaurant, The Signet Spa, as well as the highly anticipated Courtyard, consisting of a bakery, coffee house, hair and nail salon.
Open now the hotel’s main restaurant, 1772, is an all-day brasserie equipped with a centrepiece brass bar and wonderful views out over the Wessex Downs.
Every Sunday brings a delicious and ever-changing roast menu, with sample dishes including Roasted Chorizo, Crispy Lincolnshire Pork Belly and Herefordshire Rib of Beef.
Culinary and Operations Director Ronnie Kimbugwe and his team have created a variety of dishes that focus on local, sustainable and, above all, quality ingredients.

The team are also working with local and British suppliers to source the best produce such as First Choice Vegetables and growing their own produce in the kitchen gardens.
During the month of April, all adult diners will be offered a complimentary welcome drink and children under 10-year's-old will dine for free (subject to 2 adults having main course) if booked in advance.
Yu restaurant is the hotel's second eatery, where feasting and sharing is encouraged.
Experience different tasting menus with dishes such as Chawanmushi, Sushi, Sashimi, Yellowtail Sashimi with Truffle Ponzu dressing, Waktori and more.
There is also a bakery, coffee house, hair and nail salon and The Courtyard will be a place to drop in at any time to pick up a sourdough loaf or grab an artisan coffee.
The lower ground floor will boast an impressive Health Club, The Signet Spa.
Inside you will find an indoor vitality pool, mud rasul, salt flotation room, steam & sauna, state-of-the-art gymnasium and three treatment rooms.
The hotel will also have an outdoor infinity pool.
The Signet Collection offers rooms at The Retreat at Elcot Park (www.elcotpark.com) from £135 per night based on two people sharing a double room.
