Former Reading FC academy graduate Pierce Sweeney has agreed to rejoin Exeter City, after leaving Swindon Town after just one day.

The defender has re-signed for the Grecians having departed the club a month ago.

26-year-old Sweeney had agreed to join Swindon Town, putting pen to paper on a move to the County Ground, signing a two-year deal at the club.

The Robins subsequently announced however that Sweeney had left the club by mutual consent the next day.

He has now returned to Exeter City, where he has spent the last five seasons.

Sweeney was released by Reading without having made a first-team appearance in 2016.
