A sleeping tawny owl snapped at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve has gone viral after being shared by the Telegraph and the Times.
The photograph, taken by aerospace engineer Neil Brailsford, shows the owl waking up, yawning, and then promptly returning to sleep.
Mr Brailsford, who has a passion for wildlife photography, said he was delighted his image has gained such widespread attention.
He said: "I have been taking photos of owls for a good 5 years now. I’m very happy to show the pictures off, showing the day-to-day struggles of owls in the UK with climate and habitation loss.
"I volunteer for a couple of owl conservation groups, fitting new boxes and repairing others , ringing the birds after breeding plus surveying work for habitat etc."
Wokingham Borough Council said the local owls are getting famous after they were featured in the national newspapers.
Maiden Erlegh Lakes is a 25-acre Local Nature Reserve Earley managed by the town council.
A pair of tawny owls were spotted at the nature reserve last year looking loved up.
Max Brown, operations manager at Earley Town Council, said it showed conservation efforts at the reserve were working.
Affectionately named Romeo and Juliet, the couple's romance began when they started calling to one another from their separate owl boxes on opposite sides of the nature reserve.
