Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Reading, where a man had his neck slashed at St Mary’s Butts.
Jamie Alford, aged 46, of no fixed abode, was charged last Monday June 17 with one count of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The charges are in connection with an incident at just after 2am on Sunday June 16 when a man received cuts to his neck following an altercation in St Mary’s Butts, Reading.
Alford appeared before Reading Magistrates’ Court on the same day he was charged and has been remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on July 15.
A second man, also aged 46 and of no fixed abode was released with no further action to be taken.
