An exciting new addition to an the already GIANT franchise is confirmed to be coming out this June.
The Acolyte is an upcoming American science fiction television series created by Leslye Headland.
It is part of the Star Wars franchise, set at the end of the High Republic era before the events of the main Star Wars films, and follows a Jedi investigation into a series of crimes.
The release of the Star Wars: The Acolyte, made here in Wokingham borough is due on June 4. The film will be viewable on the streaming program Disney Plus.
Wokingham Borough Council have expressed their excitement and gratitude for such a colossal film having been made locally.
In a post to social media, a spokesperson for Wokingham Borough Council said the following:
"The COUNTDOWN is on.
"Star Wars: The Acolyte, made here in Wokingham Borough at Shinfield Studios. Releases 4 June on Disney+."
