A family-owned gastro pub has released an announcement after a fire engulfed the establishment last night April 8.

Both Thames Valley Police and Fire crews rushed to The Bull Inn in Arborfield Cross in the early hours of this morning after they received reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire affecting an outbuilding, including a large patio area. Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using four hose reels and three main jets, before damping down the area.

Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours and 19 minutes and the blaze was efficiently extinguished.

Since news of this broke The Bull Inn has sent a statement out to their customers saying how devastated they are.

They said "As many of you are aware, there was a large fire at The Bull Arborfield Cross in the early hours of this morning.

"We are absolutely devastated and shocked, but grateful that no one was harmed and all of our staff are safe.

"We will remain closed whilst we deal with the situation and will keep everyone updated with our progress. Thank you to everyone for your support and kind words."

Thames Valley Police have since released a statement confirming that no person's were harmed during the incident and it is not being treated as suspicious.

The only road closure is on Swallowfield Road between The Bull and Chamberlain Gardens due to the building being unsafe and tiles still coming off the building.

The pub has since confirmed that no damage was done to the main building.
