Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed and had his foot ran over.

At around 8 am on Tuesday April 2, on Oxford Road, near to Lorne Street, a man has been assaulted and had his foot run over by the suspect. The man had his phone and an amount of cash stolen in the incident.

The victim received minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.

A 37 year old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in police custody.

Investigating officer DC Conor Thornton said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or has video or dash-cam footage of this, to please get in touch.

“We are especially interested in hearing from the passer-by who we believe recorded part of the incident on their phone.
