A new independent pizza place has just opened its doors in Whitley.

Created by Max Brian-Boys and Robbie Waldron, Dough Bros is a brand-new takeaway and restaurant on Northumberland Avenue.

Started by two friends who have a passion for good food, both Mr Brian-Boys and Mr Waldron noticed that there was a lack of artisan style meals prepared in house with many places opting for frozen alternatives.

“Our passion for making pizza from scratch was a great match for this problem,” Mr Brian-Boys said.

“I kept trying to get food for lunch from places nearby, and it was all just super greasy stuff. Nowhere around here makes pizzas like we do.”

Next to Mr Brian-Boys other business Short Back and Vibes barbers, the two partners set up the new restaurant serving freshly made pizzas daily.

“Upon coming in expect a fun friendly vibe and a good laugh with the staff. Our team is incredibly inclusive, helping to provide opportunities for special needs people in the local community.”

Mr Brian-Boys grew up in Reading and moved away for a career in finance.

Mr Waldron was pursuing personal training, but both decided to abandon the “safe” option and go for it with the restaurant.
