Another man has been charged in connection to the ongoing attempted murder investigation at Walkabout.

A man aged in his 20s was seriously injured after being stabbed during an altercation in the Walkabout bar in Wiston Terrace.

It has since been reported that the victim is a Barbados national called Tharel Thompson who was on holiday in the UK visiting with family in Reading.

On Tuesday, February 13 a 23-year-old man was charged in connection with the incident.

Today February 25, Jahlil Charles, aged 22, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of attempted murder.

He will appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court tomorrow February 26.

Walkabout bar in Reading has been closed temporarily as Thames Valley Police continue their investigations. 

A spokesman from Walkabout said that they have been working closely with Thames Valley Police following the incident which took place on their premises.

The pub added: “We cannot comment further due to the ongoing police investigation and the bar will remain closed until the police have completed their enquiries.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young man currently in hospital, who we hope makes a full recovery.”
