As previously reported, a new all-you-can-eat restaurant has recently opened in Reading’s town centre.

Aka BBQ Station has just set up shop on St Mary’s Butts, the site formerly being occupied by Pizza Express.

Serving traditional Korean cuisine, Aka prides itself on being a one-of-a-kind buffet and BBQ restaurant.

After news of this brand-new addition to Reading’s culinary scene, hundreds of people have shared their views via social media.

A multitude of people expressed their excitement for an all-you-can-eat restaurant.

“Yum Yum I will give it a bash, all you can eat love it,” one commenter wrote. In agreement, another said “Somebody say, all you can eat?”

Many also expressed their disdain for another restaurant being added rather than a different business.

One user said: “What is happening Reading, the council should be encouraging small independent shops instead of restaurants and coffee shops.

“Every single vacant outlet is transformed into eating hubs only.”

However, some suggested that as so many businesses in Reading are left empty, the public should be thankful for a new addition.

Mimicking the negative comments left by previous people, one user stated: “Everyone: sick of all these empty units in town centres. The place is dead bla bla bla.”

“Someone: puts their money where their mouth is and opens a new business. Employs a load of people to help the economy and give local people jobs.

“Everyone: nah don’t like it.”

Others questioned why the restaurant charges a fee for customers leaving food at the tables.

“I won't be going there if they charge 10 extra for leaving food,” one commenter added. “My kids love trying new stuff when we go to cosmos and sometimes they leave it if they don't like it.”

In agreement with the previous comment, another user wrote “Not liking the idea of having to pay £10 extra if you happen to leave something on the plate.

“What if you try something and don't like it?”

Some also suggested that the price per person is too high.

A further user said: “It should be all you can eat too, I saw the prices when I walked past and they are eyewatering!”

In agreement with the previous comment, another commenter wrote: “I looked at the new restaurant today. It felt that for 29.90 per person without drinks it is extremely expensive.

“Although it was nice there is a limited choice, but I imagine good for special occasions and celebrations.”
