A new all-you-can-eat restaurant has opened in Reading’s town centre.

Aka BBQ Station has just set up shop on St Mary’s Butts, the site formerly being occupied by Pizza Express.

Serving traditional Korean cuisine, Aka prides itself on being a one-of-a-kind buffet and BBQ restaurant.

General Manager Mr Raffaele Amatruda said: “Our first evening was very good, we had around 60 customers which was great.”

Guests pay per head and then are given 90 minutes from sitting down to pile their plates and eat whatever they want.

The dishes are all traditionally Korean and include fried chicken, a variety of noodle dishes, sushi, Korean rolls, and traditional curries. These are also all regularly changed.

Other than the hot buffet, Aka’s raw meat section provides guests with a whole variety of uncooked marinated BBQ food.

Customers can then take the meat back to where they are sitting and cook it themselves on BBQ hot plates in the middle of the table.

Mr Amatruda said: “Our restaurant is massive, so we have the ability to take loads of bookings. We have a party room at the back which people can book out.

“We are also going to introduce a lunchtime deal soon.”
