With Christmas day fast approaching, many have already started adorning their houses with bright lights, festive reindeer, and even, in some cases, a huge inflatable Grinch!

Residents have been putting forward their top picks for the best-dressed houses around Reading, so here's the rundown of some Christmasy light displays you don’t want to miss.

Enjoy!

The Spencers Wood, Three Mile Cross & Shinfield Charity Christmas Trail 2023 is due to start on December 15 and will run till December 30. Maps are available from December 9.

Simonds Grove is also already starting to get pretty busy with lots of people walking around to see the festive lights.

The annual event is to raise money for The Cowshed charity, and if attendees find all the houses on the map, they could be in with winning a prize!

Maybank Shinfield Meadows is also hosting a festive lights trail, and the neighbourhood turned on their lights at a “switch on” ceremony on December 3.

Marianne Curtis has beautifully decorated her house in Christie Heights Greenham Newbury which currently sports several Santas, lots of tinsel, and a huge Grinch!

She has adorned her house in all its Christmas glory to raise funds for Dementia UK and Eathan’s Journey. The lights will be switched on from 4 pm to 10.30 pm daily.

Residents have also recommended Brockley Close in Tilehurst which is also said to host amazing displays.
