A WOMAN from Tilehurst who was due in court for neglecting a child has failed to show up.
The 36-year-old was due at Reading Crown Court on Friday (November 24) to be sentenced for one count of assaulting/ill-treating/abandoning a child/young person to cause unnecessary suffering/injury.
It relates to an incident between February 20, 2021 and February 24, 2021 to a child who was under the age of 16.

The court heard that the woman, who we have decided not to name to protect the anonymity of the child, may have mental health issues.
Judge Kirsty Real told the court that finding the woman safe and well is the main priority.
A bench warrant back for bail was issued.
