1. House of Fraser announces closure date for Reading store
A popular department store in Reading town centre has announced its closure date.
House of Fraser has occupied its space in The Oracle since it opened in 1999.
Plans submitted in July outlined that the owners of the shopping centre wished to reduce the department store space in The Oracle in order to divide it up for different retailers to use.

2. Warning as road in Reading set to close for 28 days
A warning has been issued to drivers and bus passengers in Reading as upcoming roadworks are likely to cause delays to journeys.
Main roads in Caversham, Southcote, and Woodley will be affected by roadworks that will be in place this week.
In Caversham, road resurfacing work is being undertaken for the length of Lowfield Road by Reading Borough Council.

3. Franco Manca and The Real Greek Reading now shut
A Greek restaurant and a popular pizza chain have both closed at The Oracle in Reading amid redevelopment plans.
The Franco Manca and The Real Greek restaurant at The Oracle Riverside have both suddenly closed this week.
Franco Manca, which specialised in sourdough pizza opened at the ground floor of the former Debenhams unit in June 2017.

4. Cyber attack hits Wokingham's Maiden Erlegh School
A school has said a cyber attack has limited their teaching resources as they gear up to welcome students back.
Maiden Erlegh Trust in Earley has said that they are the victim of a "sophisticated" cyber-attack.
In an open letter to parents, headteacher Paul Gibson said: "We are currently facing some technical issues with our IT systems.

5. Former Reading FC boss on 'phenomenal' job despite relegation
Former Reading boss Paul Ince believes he did a 'phenomenal' job in Berkshire, despite being sacked with the side on the cusp of relegation.
Initially taking charge on a temporary basis in February 2022, he kept the side up and took the club into the 2022/23 season under embargo with less than eight first-team players in pre-season.
