A DRIVER has been jailed after causing serious injury to a woman in Reading.
Edgaras Miksys, of Brown Road, Burghfield Common, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on March 9 this year after hitting a woman with his Range Rover on Burghfield Road, Mortimer.
The 37-year-old was also charged with drink-driving, driving without a relevant licence and driving without insurance.

At Reading Crown Court today (March 31), Miksys was sentenced to 14 months in jail as was handed a 40 month driving disqualification upon his release.
He will also have to take an extended driving test before he can drive again.
Miksys also received a concurrent sentence of eight weeks for drink driving but no separate penalty for the insurance or licence charges.
His licence will also be endorsed but it is unknown how many points will e added.
Speaking to the judge over video link during sentencing, Miksys said: “I’m so sorry, I’ve done everything already about my alcohol.
“I’ve stopped drinking completely and I’ve done alcohol tests and drug tests and everything I can do to show you I really want to change my life.

“I’m stopping drinking, I’m stopping all that stuff.”
The judge said she was pleased to hear about the progress he was making.
