A MAN from Reading has been fined almost £600 for failing to pay a £72 train ticket.
Lee Taylor, of Drovers Way, was found guilty in absence at Avon and Somerset Magistrates Court on March 10 this year.
The 43-year-old travelled on a railway in Castle Cary in Somerset on June 24 last year and failed to hand over a ticket for inspection and verification.

It was found that Taylor had an outstanding fare of £72.90.
Taylor was fined £220 as a result of the incident. He was also made to pay the fare of £72.90 in compensation.
An additional £88 victim surcharge was ordered and £180 in court costs totalling a £560.90 fine.
