RAIL passengers are set to face disruptions to their journeys this week as train services through Berkshire will be once again impacted by strikes.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) at train companies and Network Rail will walk out for 24 hours on Wednesday, July 27 and Saturday, July 30 in a bitter dispute over pay, jobs and conditions.

Last month, members of the Union walked out for three days, crippling services across the county.

Union leaders made the announcement after rejecting a new offer from Network Rail which they described as “paltry”.

The offer was for a four per cent pay rise backdated to January, another two per cent next year, and a further two per cent conditional on achieving “modernisation milestones”.

Alternative timetables and routes are still yet to be published.

All South Western Railway routes will be affected by the strikes.

This includes trains at Bracknell Train Station, Ascot and Sunningdale.

A severely limited service will run between 7.15am and 6.30pm on some routes.
