AN ITALIAN chain restaurant has been given a brand new food hygiene score.

Zizzi at the Oracle in Reading received a visit from Food Standards Agency (FSA) inspectors on May 3.

The restaurant was inspected based on the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety.

Following the inspection, it was rated a four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

It means that of Reading's 278 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 187 (67%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
