A FRENCH Bulldog café opened in Reading last weekend.

Chaos ensued as hundreds of French bulldogs and their owners took over Revolution Reading in a pop up that ran from 10am to 5pm.

The four sessions of the day included two for Pugs in the morning and two sessions in the afternoon for Bulldogs.

The event was hosted by Pup Up Café, an idea created by Marcus Ackford where over 100 bulldogs are given the chance to be let off their leads in a fun and safe environment.

Becky Jackson, a new dog owner was there with her three children and eight week old Bulldog.

She said: “It’s so nice for them to meet other dogs of their kind because a lot of other dogs can be quite stand offish because they are constantly up.

“Also the fact that they don’t have a tail to wag sometimes makes other dogs wary so I think this is such a good idea.”

Another dog owner said that it was good to get them socialising again with other dogs especially because Covid made her Frenchie slightly with-drawn.

Kate Cheskin from Perfect Paws Boutique attended the event with their wide display of leads, collars, and everything else a dog could need. This is the first of their events as the festivals season begins.
