A TERRIFYING burglary saw four men with crowbars steal £30,000 worth of jewellery from a house in Earley.

Between 11.30pm and 12.30am on Thursday, January 27, burglars armed with crowbars broke into a property in Wokingham Road.

A man and woman in their sixties were at home when the burglary took place.

Police said the man suffered a broken arm and cuts to his head and lips. 

He was treated at Royal Berkshire Hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.

The offenders took mobile phones from the victims before searching the property.

Jewellery with an estimated value of £30,000 was stolen.

Police describe the offenders as wearing all black from top to bottom and wore balaclavas.

Investigating officer, DS Mark Boyd, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and saw anything suspicious to contact us.

“We would like to specifically reach out to people that were in the Soel Joel Park until around 1.30am on the night of the incident, in the hope they come forward.

“We would also urge anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
