A POP-UP handmade craft shop will be saying goodbye to Newbury shopping centre.

Artisans Handmade UK's pop-up shop came to Parkway Shopping Centre earlier this year after closing in Minster Street, Reading.

However, owner and crafter Kellie Henderson alongside her sisters are hoping she can remain open until Christmas.

Reading Chronicle:

They opened their first shop in May 2019 in Kidlington and when this shop closed in August, they opened one in Caversham.

Then they opened a store near The Oracle, replacing homeware shop Lakeland. They then closed in July.

The shop supports independent businesses and encourages people to shop locally.

Owner Kellie Henderson is looking for another location to support local businesses.

She said: "It's the nature of Pop up I guess but we've loved our time there. The management is amazing. We have a meeting with them this week about possible relocation but to be honest it is business rates that are the concern.

"We are a non profit company helping local businesses but not registered as a charity so I don't believe there's much help available.

"It would be lovely to come back to Reading, The Oracle was my favourite."
