A SHOCKING video shows the moment a car thief high on cocaine overtakes another vehicle on a tight country road in a high-speed police pursuit.

Jordan Parker Anderson was being chased by officers in the Audi he stole from a milkman in September 2020.

The stolen vehicle was spotted by police five days later and officers indicated for Parker Anderson to pull over.

The 27-year-old failed to do so, prompting a police chase which saw the Tilehurst man carry out a number of dangerous manoeuvres.

A video from a police dashcam shows the moment Parker Anderson overtook a car on Sulham Hill, which is a narrow country lane near Pangbourne just outside Reading.

The driver was clocked going 60mph on the 40mph road before he collided with a Volkswagen van which caused damage to the vehicle.

This caused the tyre to come off the Audi’s rim and Parker Anderson lost control of the vehicle.

He got out of the car and ran off down a driveway, jumped over a fence and into a garden before he was caught by chasing officers.

Appearing in court yesterday after he admitted to dangerous driving, driving under the influence of cocaine and aggravated vehicle theft, Parker Anderson was sentenced to 26 months in prison.

Sentencing, His Honour Judge Paul Dugdale said: “We are moments away from serious injury or a fatality.

“We are moments away from relatives of a victim reading their victim's personal statements [in court].

“It is a police chase in which officers put themselves at risk.

““At the time you were doing this, everybody else in the area was at risk of you causing them serious injury or killing them.

“I have sat in cases like this too many times where it has not ended as luckily as it has here.

“That is why dangerous driving like this is so serious. It puts members of the community at risk of serious injury or death.”

Parker Anderson was sentenced on Thursday, December 2.
