AMAZON is set to hire around 70 people for seasonal roles.

The company has announced it is due to hire 20,000 people across its UK network of fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations during the festive season.

This will include up to 70 jobs in the Reading delivery station.

Pay for operations roles start at a minimum of £10 per hour, rising to £11.10 per hour in some parts of the UK for all full-time, part-time, temporary and seasonal roles in Amazon’s fulfilment centres, sort centres and delivery stations.

Reading Chronicle:

The seasonal roles are in addition to the 55,000 permanent employees Amazon has in the UK.

Amazon’s delivery station in Reading is also looking for individuals to deliver parcels in their spare time for between £13 to £15 per hour.

Marlene Smith, Amazon’s Reading Delivery Station Manager, said: "We prepare year-round for the festive season, and we’re excited to have around 70 positions available this year in Reading. Our seasonal associates play an integral role in helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.
