TWO people have been convicted of stealing alcohol and one person even admitted to stealing fish pies from Tesco in Reading.

Of these shoplifters who appeared in Berkshire Magistrates’ Court on charges of theft, all pleaded guilty and were convicted for their crimes.

One person was handed a suspended sentence because of how 'serious the theft was' and others were given community orders.

Lorna Mcculloch of Russell Street, Reading, pleaded guilty to stealing £20.15 worth of food from Tesco in Church ROAD, Reading on April 2.

The court has ordered her not to enter Tesco and she has to report to Reading police station between 12pm and 5pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Dominic Bullock, of no fixed abode, stole alcohol and water on May 4 in Tesco on London Road, Newbury.

The items came to a total of £16.40 and Bullock was fined £22 for shoplifting.

Ashley Smith of Newtown Road, Newbury, was given a community order for stealing alcohol to the value of £69.50 from Tesco in Newbury.

Smith admitted guilt on March 11 and has to attend rehabilitation appointments.

Nathaniel Coker of Elmbridge Road, Reading admitted to stealing three fish pies to the value of £7.75 from Tesco Express in Oxford Road.

The 19-year-old was remanded on bail until June as is due to appear at Reading Magistrates Court on June 8.

The court has also ordered Coker not to attend any Tesco Stores in Reading.
