A ROAD has remained closed for several hours after a car smashed into a lamppost.
Thames Valley Police have sealed of Whitley Wood Lane, Reading, after the crash earlier today.

It is believed to have happened shortly after 10am and involved a car crashing into a lamppost.
It is not known if the driver was injured.
Pictures show significant damage to the fronright-handnd side of the car and the lamppost had been completely toppled.
It happened just outside D&D's convenience shop, and the section of road outside has been closed.

Traffic reports show minor queues in the area as a result, it is not known when the road will be reopened.

Reading Buses has said it is diverting around the closure by using Hartland Road Whitley Wood Road both directions.
