January blues, coupled with the ongoing lockdown and Covid rises, leave us all longing for some kind of excitement.

A small as it seems, local takeaways have played a key part in lifting our spirits as we embrace the little things now that dining out seems like a distant memory.

With this in mind, we asked readers last week what their go-to takeaway had been lately, as a means enjoying some hearty comfort food.

The results were varied, but here are a few of locals' favourite places you may want to try next time you are craving a lockdown treat.

Chinese takeaway lovers may want to follow the advice of Hayley McNulty Siebert, who said: "I did love the Golden Bridge in Caversham!

"The pineapple fried rice was tasty!"
