MORE than 100,000 people have signed a petition to ban people from possessing lethal weapons without a license.

It follows the tragic death of 13-year-old Olly Stephens who was stabbed in Bugs Bottom fields, Emmer Green on January 3.

A total of 106,599 people have signed the change.org petition which is calling for the possession of lethal weapons to be banned without a license and for everybody under 21 years old.

It has been called “Justice for Oliver Lucas Stephens”.

The page said Olly's family and the people who cared about him "will be mourning for the rest of their lives".

It added: "Please help to protect our people."

The organisers of the petition posted on the page two weeks ago to thank people for their support.

A fundraiser has also been set up in memory of Olly and has raised £19,120.

Three teenagers have been charged in connection with the incident.

A 13-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named, are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm in connection with the death.

The girl was also charged with perverting the course of justice.

All three are expected back in court on February 4.
