THROUGHOUT the pandemic police officers have continued to respond to burglaries across the area.

Just this week we reported on a burglary which saw a wine box stolen from a resident's doorstep in Thatcham.

Looking back at data from the police.uk website we have decided to reveal which local area reported the highest number of burglaries in November 2020 - the latest month in which figures are available.

The data reveals that the Abbey/Battle area of Reading had the highest number of burglaries with 16 reported cases in November 2020.

This area stretches from the River Thames to Tilehurst Road and from Norcot to Newtown.

The highest number of burglaries were reported on or near Gloucester Road which had four reports in November 2020.

The East Reading area including Redlands had the second highest number of burglary reports with 13 cases.

The highest number of burglaries were reported on or near Crescent Road (three reports) and on or near Montague Street (three reports).

This area was followed by Pangbourne and Burghfield which reported six burglaries in November.

Peppard/ Caversham - 5

Redlands/ Park - 13

Pangbourne/ Burghfield - 6

Woodley - 2

Earley - 2

Woodley and Earley had the fewest number of reported burglary cases with two each in November 2020.

The police.uk website describes a burglary as "theft, or attempted theft, from a premises where access is not authorised".
