A MAN has been stabbed and his BMW stolen in a 'targeted attack' in Reading.

Thames Valley Police said the violent attack happened today (January 14) in Battle Square, off Oxford Road.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was stabbed and his vehicle - a silver BMW - was stolen from him.

It happened about 1.45pm.

Police said three men have since been arrested in connection with the attack. They are all in custody.

The force added that the attack is believed to be an 'isolated incident'.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant James Jackson, based at Reading police station, said: “I understand that this incident may cause some concern in the community, but I would like to reassure people that we believe this was a targeted attack.

“We have also made three arrests in connection with the offence.
