A DEDICATED GP doctor has gone to extreme lengths to take on no ordinary challenge to support a family close to his heart.
Charles Walker from Ascot is helping raise money to support a Didcot family whose daughter Yasmin Howes sadly got diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
Working as a GP by day, Charles has been running a half-marathon every night for almost 28 days to raise money for the cancer unit at John Radcliffe Hospital where Yasmin will be treated.
Extra proceeds will also go to supporting Didcot Town Supporters Club after the "amazing efforts of the Lincoln 100km challenge".
So far, Charles has raised £3,130 over his £3,000 target and has been posting his half-marathon efforts on his Facebook page.

His latest post said: "25 half marathons down , 3 to go. Charles has gone through some serious pain , some serious miles and some serious telling offs from the wife all for 3 great causes. He has hit his £3k target but let’s not stop there."
Charles wears his rucksack and head torch and ventures out from his home at midnight, recording his route on his running app every night to make sure he reaches 13.1 miles.

Speaking to the Non-League Paper, Charles said: "I saw what Lincoln had done on Twitter and I was impressed I sent some money to the club and they got in touch and said they were looking at setting up a new supporter's group.
"I met a few of the guys and said 'I've got an idea' but it was a bit bravado really. Now I have to go through with it."
