POLICE have released new images in the hope to find a man missing from Reading.

Bogdan Skarbek, 49, of Argyle Street, was last seen leaving work in Craddock Road, Reading, on his bicycle, a grey female model mountain bike, on Thursday, November 14.

He was due to return to work on Sunday (November 17), but failed to do so.

He was reported missing to police on December 3.

Mr Skarbek’s disappearance is out of character and concern is growing for his welfare.

Officers are now releasing new CCTV images of Mr Skarbek as part of a re-appeal to find him.

Mr Skarbek is described as around 5ft 5ins tall, with a bald head and blue eyes.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Richard Jarvis of Reading CID, said: “These images of Mr Skarbek were captured on CCTV in a Lidl store in Oxford Road, Reading, between 7.14pm and 7.22pm on Saturday 16 November, two days after he was last seen on his bicycle.

“These images are from the day before he unexpectedly did not return to work.

"In the images, Mr Skarbek is dressed in a black jacket, a black woolly hat and khaki coloured trousers and had a blue backpack. However it is not known what he was dressed in when he went missing.

“If anyone recognises him from the images, or believes they were in Lidl in Oxford Road at similar times to when Mr Skarbek has been captured on CCTV, please come forward if you think you might have information that can help.

“We know that Mr Skarbek made contact with a woman living in Poland over that same weekend.

“His usual route to work would have been along the canal on the A33 from Craddock Road to and from Argyle Street.

“We believe Mr Skarbek has his wallet with him, but other belongings including a mobile phone have been left at home. There has not been any bank activity since his last sighting which is a concern.

“He has not been in contact with his family in Poland, despite his usual routine of contacting them every Sunday.

“This is extremely out of character for Mr Skarbek, and we are growing concerned for his welfare. It is not believed he has any close friends in the UK.

“I am appealing for anybody who may know of Mr Skarbek’s whereabouts to make contact with police on 101, quoting reference number 43190379510.

“I would also appeal directly to Mr Skarbek if he sees this. We are concerned for you and ask you to contact us. You’re not in trouble, but we want to ensure that you are safe.”
