A MAN has died near the Southcote Lock after police and air ambulance rushed to the scene last night.

The man is known to be in his 30s and died on the scene.

There was a large police presence in Circuit Lane, Southcote yesterday evening (August 14) after emergency services were called near the lock at around 3.50pm.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance, South Central Ambulance Service, police and dog handlers were on the scene dealing with the incident.

A police spokesman said: "This was a fear for welfare incident during which a man aged in his thirties sadly died.

"Officers were called to the incident at around 3:50pm."
