A PUPPET reindeer is set to entertain visitors at the Wokingham’s Winter Carnival as part of the Christmas festivities.

Jingle the Reindeer, a ‘lifelike’ puppet, is set to make an appearance on Sunday, November 25 and will be performed by the dynamic duo Michael Crouch and Jamie Duncombe, from Earley.

Michael found a group of like-minded individuals within the Wokingham Circus Scene and the area has hosted many of his puppetry creations.

He said: “The Wokingham Winter Carnival is such a popular event, attracting a large audience and I am very excited to be bringing Jingle to my home territory.

“It almost feels like going full circle and I’m looking forward to joining in the fun on the day.”

Jingle will be performing at The Winter Carnival during 11am to 6pm and ‘will be putting a smile on the faces of visitors.’

Creature Encounter is a well-respected puppet company and have since gone on to tour their puppetry around the world.

The puppeteer added: “I’ve always been interested in puppetry and Jamie and I have very creative imaginations. We love to see our initial ideas take shape and turn into beautiful creations for Creature Encounter. To us, anything is possible.”

Committee Member Cathy Valentine from Circus Scene said: “We are so excited that we have managed to book Michael and Jamie this year. I have worked with Michael for many years when he spent summers entertaining festival and carnival audiences by balancing on tightropes, stilts and unicycles.

“I am sure Jingle is going to be a big hit with everyone coming along to the Winter Carnival and great fun for both children and adults.”

Visitors can enjoy over 100 different foods, a wide range of entertainment including a magic show, Punch and Judy, laser show and much more.

Children will also get to see Santa in his Grotto at the Library from 11am to 3pm.
