READING boxer Tamuka Mucha will be under the spotlight this Saturday when he fights on Sky Sports for the first time at the ExCeL Arena in London.

The stacked card features 16 bouts, including Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo and former world lightweight title challenger Kevin

Mitchell.

Mucha, who made his professional debut on the undercard of a Tyson Fury fight, will be looking to extend his unbeaten run to seven when he takes on Georgian Beka Stidze.

In his last outing he beat Kevin McCauley in September and he will be hoping to showcase his talents again in front of a packed crowd at the ExCeL.

Watching on will be his younger brother Tashinga, who himself has enjoyed plenty of success in the ring too.

The 17-year-old amateur finished his year on a high by winning the Senior Novice Boxing Championships last weekend.

He hopes to win more amateur titles before following in his brother’s footsteps and turning professional.

Both their fortunes have been closely followed by Oscar Manjengwa, chairman of Always Showing Talent, a Reading-based organisation that provides a platform for aspiring individuals to showcase their talents.

And he told the Chronicle is already looking forward to see what 2014 holds for the brothers.

“They are a credit to the work that Reading boxing clubs have been doing in our local boxing gyms and it is good to know that Reading is being represented by two young men who continue to show their talents,” he said.

“We look forward to seeing what the new year has in store for these two brothers who are just getting better with age.”
