GREAT Britain are seeking full advantage from home water on Wednesday (today) by announcing the biggest rowing team of all-time for a World Cup.

A total of 81 rowers across 29 boats will contest the event at Eton Dorney on June 21-23, with the dual aim of winning medals whilst also offering top level racing experience to emerging talents.

By contrast, when the World Cup last took place at the venue in 2005, the host nation fielded just 63 rowers in 17 boats.

Sir David Tanner CBE, performace director for team GB explained: "We will have a big crowd at Eton Dorney on all three days and it'll be a good opportunity to give our emerging and under-23 (U23) crews the chance to taste the intensity of World Cup racing alongside our more established and experienced stars.

"We do not expect to repeat the heights of our medal haul from (London) 2012 - after all this is a transitional year with some top rowers taking a break or having retired - but I'm sure we will give the home crowd some exciting racing and something to cheer for."

Rowers expected to be included in Great Britain's World Cup team are Caragh McMurty, Charles Cousins and Sam Townsend (all quadruple scull) of Reading University Boat Club; Windsor residents James Cook (pair three boats), Oliver Cook (pair two boats) and Adam Freeman-Pask (fours).

Ertan Hazine (pair three boats), Matthew Beford (pair two boats) and Jonathan Clegg (fours) will represent Maidenhead while Andrew Houghton flies the flag for Maidenhead Rowing Club in the para rowing arms and shoulders single scull.
