GREAT Britain women's hockey team maintained their 100 per cent record in the Olympic test event in Stratford this afternoon by beating China 3-0.

All six Reading hockey club players were involved in the match at the Riverbank Arena.

Crista Cullen opened the scoring from a penalty corner that was injected by Slough's Ashleigh Ball after six minutes.

Despite dominating large passages of play, GB failed to extend their lead intil the final moments of the game.

It looked like being a frustrating game until a moment of magic from Helen Richardson. Her excellent run up the wing and into the D set up Susie Gilbert for the second goal two minutes from time.

Then deep into added time, GB won a succession of short corners and Cullen put away her second of the game to make it 3-0.

Speaking exclusively to the Chronicle after the game, Richardson said: "We went out to be on the front foot which I think we did. We dominated for large parts of the game.

"It was a much improved performance from yesterday. It was important to get another clean sheet and three goals in front of the crowd."

She added: "I felt like I'd had the worst game ever so it was nice to produce a bit of skill and set up the second goal."
