READING FC are set to sign wantaway Icelandic international striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to reports.
It emerged last week the popular forward was told he could leave Molineux after less than 12 months in the West Midlands.
Ipswich Town were frontrunners to land the 6ft 3ins striker's signature after manager Mick McCarthy missed out on Royals' forward Dominic Samuel, who looks set to complete a permanent switch to Blackburn Rovers.
But reports today suggest Royals' boss Jaap Stam came in with a late offer to bring the towering striker to Berkshire.
As per my previous tweet #readingfc. usually pretty reliable for all Wolves news. Wonder if he'll bring the Icelandic clap to the Madjeski https://t.co/u8o7MOoBQx

Bodvarsson, who played in the Euro 2016 match which saw England crash out of the competition, made a total of 42 appearances for Wolves last season.
However, 20 of those came from the bench and he only mustered three goals, including one on his debut against Rotherham, in a disappointing campaign.
The 25-year-old was reportedly given an extended break over the summer after playing nearly two years of continuous football.
Bodvarsson joined Wolves for around £1m from German outfit Kaiserslautern last summer and it is understood boss Nuno Espirito Santo wants to recoup the cash the club spent.
Dutchman Stam is keen to bring a striker to the club after Yann Kermorgant was ruled out for the start of the upcoming campaign following hip and groin surgery last week.
Yann Kermorgant had recent hip and groin surgery.
Joseph Mendes has not travelled to Holland for Royals' pre-season tour due to a knock, while Deniss Rakels has been loaned to Polish outfit Lech Poznan for the season.
Dominic Samuel is also expected to complete a £500,000 switch in the coming days after also pulling out of the trip to the Netherlands, leaving Stam desperately short of options up front.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper and twice player of the season Ali Al-Habsi is also expected to depart the club imminently and seal a £300,000 move to Saudi Arabia top-flight side, Al-Hilal.
