READING FC striker Yann Kermorgant is among the nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for April.

The in-form striker has rolled back the years after notching his 17th league goal of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wigan.

And the Frenchman enjoyed a particularly productive April with seven goals in as many games during the month including another winner against Leeds United.

The 35-year-old, who announced he will retire from football next year to become a banker, is on a four-man shortlist for the monthly award along with John Brayford, Stefan Johansen and former Royals loan striker Glenn Murray.

Centre-back Brayford put in a string of strong performances for Burton Albion to help them preserve their Championship status while Fulham midfielder Johansen netted four times during the month including a brace in a 4-1 victory against promotion rivals Huddersfield.

And Murray, who scored eight times in 18 games for Reading while on loan from Crystal Palace in the 2014/15 campaign, grabbed the opening goal in their victories against Blackburn, Birmingham, QPR and Wigan to help the Seagulls secure automatic promotion back the Premier League.

The winner will be announced at 6am tomorrow (Friday).
