READING FC midfielder Oliver Norwood has joined Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal at the Amex Stadium.

Northern Ireland international Norwood signed for Royals when Nigel Adkins was manager in August 2014 and made 92 appearances for Royals, scoring five times.

He made his Reading bow as a substitute when he replaced Jake Taylor in a defeat at Nottingham Forest and then scored his first league goal at Rotherham towards the end of that same Championship campaign.

The Northern Ireland international completed a medical with the Seagulls yesterday before the deal was confirmed.

Delighted Brighton manager Chris Hughton said: "“Oliver is another excellent addition to our squad.

“He has a good grounding coming from Manchester United, and has a wealth of experience playing in the Championship and at international level.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder and an excellent passer of the ball, so he gives us extra options in midfield and adds further depth to our squad.”
