FT Reading throw bodies in the box but they can't force an equaliser before the referee ends proceedings. Rotherham stay up but it's yet another defeat for Reading.

87'GOAL! Oliver Norwood gives Reading hope with a fine strike from 25 yards.

79' It took a while to arrive but Reading finally have a shot on target through Oliver Norwood. His long-range effort nearly catches out Emi Martinez but he backpedals and tips it wide.

75' Reading are yet to have a shot on target. This is once again pretty poor stuff. You have to feel for the 210 Royals behind the goal that have made the trip.

62' Steve Clarke has seen enough. Garath McCleary and Jamie Mackie come on for Nathaniel Chalobah and Jordan Obita.

60' Chance! Richard Smallwood's free-kick is headed narrowly wide by Kirk Broadfoot.

58GOAL! Rotherham lead 2-0 and it's almost an identical goal. Danny Ward advances down the left-hand side and his low cross is missed by everyone until it reaches the far post and Lee Frecklington is on hand to fire into an unguarded net.

51' GOAL! Rotherham lead. Danny Ward's low cross from the left is turned home at the near post by Matt Derbyshire. It looked like Mikkel Andersen had it covered but Deerbyshire nipped ahead of him to turn it home.

Reading had enjoyed most of the ball in the opening five minutes as well.

46' We're back underway. Nothing for Reading to lose here. It would be great to see them have a go at taking all three points instead of coasting to a 0-0 draw.

HT Half-time and it's 0-0 here. Rotherham are just about edging it but Andersen has only had a couple of saves to make. Reading are yet to test Emi Martinez.

45' A late chance for Rotherham as Ben Pringle's free-kick is deflected into Matt Derbyshire's path. He fires towards goal on the turn but it's high and wide.

43' Best chance of the half and Mikkel Andersen gets lucky. Matt Derbyshire chests a long ball down to Lee Frecklington. He fizzes one towards goal and Andersen is unconvincing as he fails to get fully behind the ball and it skims wide for a corner.

40' Matt Derbyshire latches on to a long ball but fires way over from wide left and just outside the box. Reading are comfortable here despite the hosts pressing over the last five minutes.

30' Chance! Pavel Pogrebnyak plays a one-two with Simon Cox before firing into the side netting from a tight angle. Emi Martinez had it covered but Pogrebnyak is convinced it should be a corner kick.

27' Simon Cox catches Jack Hunt with a late challenge from behind. Surprisingly, no yellow card is given, much to the anger of Steve Evans and the home fans.

20' It's been an edgy start from the hosts so far due to the pressure on them to confirm their Championship status. Reading have failed to make the most of that though and are yet to have a shot. The closest they came was a long ball that released Simon Cox but Emi Martinez raced off his line to clear the danger.

10' First real chance of the game here and it goes to the hosts as Danny Ward smashes an effort across goal and Matt Derbyshire is inches away from getting on the end of it.

5' Slow start here. There's a decent atmosphere here now as the home fans are hoping to see their side pick up the three points needed to ensure safety.

Reading have lined up in a 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation, with Michael Hector, Stephen Kelly and Jake Cooper in central defence. Chris Gunter and Jordan Obita are playing as wing-backs and they're looking to push on at every opportunity.

1' After an impeccably observed minute silence for a Rotherham fan that sadly passed away, we're underway ...

19:43 The teams are out...

19.30 Just over 15 minutes to go until kick-off. Urzzzz!

19:00 The teams are in and there's six changes for Reading following Saturday's defeat to Brentford.

Mikkel Andersen, Stephen Kelly, Pavel Pogrbenyak, Simon Cox, Jem Karacan and Jake Cooper all come into the Reading side.

Reading Andersen - Kelly, Hector, Cooper, Gunter - Karacan, Chalobah, Norwood - Cox, Pogrebnyak, Obita. Subs: Federici, McCleary, Pearce, Mackie, Blackman, Stacey, Appiah.

Rotherham Martinez - Lafferty, Arnason, Broadfoot, Frecklington, Pringle, Morgan, Ward, Derbyshire, Hunt, Smallwood. Subs: Collin, Wood, Bowery, Green, Hammill, Wilson, Clarke-Harris.

18.30 We're about 15 minutes away from the teams being announced. Will Steve Clarke use many youngsters? He said last week that he has to think about the integrity of the league but I'm sure the majority of Reading fans that have made the journey will hope to see the likes of Jake Cooper and Jack Stacey whilst there is nothing riding on the fixture for Reading.

18:15 It's a lovely evening in Yorkshire here but there is a nervous tension around the ground in what is a huge occasion for the hosts. Can Steve Clarke's men spoil the party?

18:00 Hello and welcome to the New York Stadium for live coverage of Reading FC's penultimate game of a long frustrating season against Rotherham.

It is a massive game for Steve Evans' side tonight as they look to secure their Championship status with three points against the Royals.

And why wouldn't they be confident?

Reading head into this game with just seven points from their last 12 games and it's fair to say that the end of the season can't come quick enough for Steve Clarke and his side.
