HENNERTON Golf Club celebrated their 25th anniversary with an open day recently, encouraging members and non-members alike to give the game a go.

Players took part in teams in a two-best-from-four stableford event, as the club saw the return of some ex-members as well.

The winners with 96 points were the team of Chris Whyatt, Pete Burgess, Tony McClements, and captain Tony Fiddy.

Just one point behind in second were Martin Green, Martin Cook, William Coulson, and Gary Kulpa.

Third place was taken by Barbara Langdale, Sandra Turnbull, Glynis Ormsby, and Ladies’ captain Sandra Woodland. They were also one point behind the winners, but slipped to third on countback.

There were also two nearest the pin competitions, won by McClements (5th) and Jon Baird (11th).
