CALCOT Park’s head PGA professional, Gareth Johnston, held his annual weekend of fun competitions culminating in prize-giving on Sunday afternoon.
Simon Keedle won the individual event on Saturday, a bogey versus par competition, with a score of +4, on countback from Martin Knight. Third place went to Joe Bonner.
A prize was also awarded to Sefia Rahim for winning the most holes.
The team event on Sunday was a Texas Scramble with double points on offer at four holes, in which players had to use a limited choice of ancient golf clubs.
This event was won with 64 points by Team Butland, comprising Russell Maslen, Stuart Kremer, captain Mark Butland and Simon Brooker.
Runners-up with 63 points were Bill Bowell, Marcus Oates, Bal Singh and Bob Beeton.
The club’s junior team fought off a competitive performance from their counterparts at Newbury & Crookham to grind out a 3-3 draw in the first leg of the Stags Knockout Trophy at Newbury on Sunday morning.
The tie is nicely set up with both teams enjoying mixed success in their individual matches and Newbury & Crookham leading the overall match by just one hole.
The second leg is at Calcot Park on Sunday, October 23.
