MATT Robertson hung on to clinch the Division One honours in the Midweek Medal at Caversham Heath.

Two shots separated the top four players, but with all four bogeying the last hole, Robertson (3hcp) clinched top spot with nett 73. Jack Russell (12hcp) was second with nett 74 and Duncan Peart (14hcp) was third, on countback from Will Tate (7hcp), both with nett 75.

Division Two winner was Fung Yee Sarah Lau (21hcp) with nett 72. Runner-up was Caroline Dover (28hcp) with nett 76 and third was Kathy North (27hcp), on countback from Peter Cannon (24hcp), both with nett 77.

Twos were recorded by Dover (8th hole) and by Mike Day and Tate (17th hole).

Callum Peart (6hcp) took the honours in the Junior Medal with nett 71. Second was James Millard (6hcp) with nett 73 and third was Robertson (3hcp) with nett 74.

The Caversham duo of Sarla Read and Kathy North performed superbly in the BCLGA Angela Uzielli Memorial Trophy played at Winter Hill to finish second on countback from a team from Sand Martins. The winners were Calcot Park. A total of 22 teams competed for the trophy.

Caversham Heath Ladies began the defence of their Bronze League crown at Winter Hill. The team of Kjersti Cannon and Jane Weller, North and Pamela Stapeley and Dover and Lau came away with three points thanks to a win and a halved match.

Former ladies captain Angie Adamson celebrated playing away on the Roman Road course at Celtic Manor with a hole-in-one. Playing a very tricky par 3, with a stream, two bunkers and a back pin location to negotiate, Adamson took it all in her stride to hole out with her driver. She received two shots on the hole, adding six Stableford points to her score.

The previous week, Deighton Sear took the Division One honours in the weekend medal.

Sear (9hcp) hung on to win the division with nett 72, despite recording a bogey and double bogey in his closing two holes.

Runner-up was Gareth Goodall (5 hcp) with nett 73. Goodall had four pars and a birdie in his final five holes, but it was the three double bogeys in four holes from the 10th hole that cost him dearly. Third spot went to Darren Bonney (5hcp) with nett 76.

Division Two winner was Greg McDonald (16hcp) with nett 73. Second was Stuart Webb (11hcp), on countback from Santiago Fernandez-Garcia (11hcp), both with nett 74.

Division Three winner was Adrian Ford (25hcp), on countback from Javier Dieguez (19hcp), both with nett 76. Third place went to Elizabeth Henderson (24hcp), on countback from Nigel Eyre (20hcp) and Gordon Berry (22hcp), all with nett 77.

l The annual "Needle Match" between the B Team and the C Team at Calcot Park was played on Saturday, with the Bs prevailing 4-3.

A meal followed where B Team captain, Andrew Povey, was presented with the Trophy by C Team captain, Don Freeman.
