WOODLEY United snatched a late goal in their first game for six weeks to win 3-2 at AFC Burghfield side in the Premier Division, writes Richard Ashton.

Woodley got off to a terrific start when Jon Norris’ 10th-minute free-kick from the right-hand touchline evaded everyone before ending up in the net.

Burghfield levelled from a corner seven minutes later, and they moved in front midway through the second half thanks to a fantastic long-range strike.

However, with only five minutes remaining,Woodley were awarded a penalty when Stuart Hawkes was pushed to the ground while attempting to head the ball from a free-kick, and Harvey Detenon calmly converted the spot-kick.

United grabbed the winner a minute later when Ed Hill slotted a pass through to substitute Ben Little, whose low shot found its way under the body of the Burghfield keeper into the back of the net.

Leaders Eldon Celtic obliterated 116 Exiles 9-0 in their top-versus-bottom clash, while Le Galaxy drew 2-2 with Athletico Forest and Mortimer shared the spoils 3-3 at home to Richfield Rovers Reserves.

In the Senior Division, Purley thumped Ghana Stars 6-0 and Kidmore End/The Mod edged past Woodley Wanderers 2-1.

Division One table-toppers Reading United moved three points clear at the summit with a 2-1 success against Woolhampton CFC, second-placed The Bull going down 2-0 at Woodley Wanderers Reserves.

AFC Burghfield Reserves remain in title contention following their 2-1 success at Spencers Wood, Caversham AFC beat WS Hobnob 3-1, S.C. United were 1-0 victors at Burghfield and AFC Bradfield got past Imaan F.C. 2-1.

Sportsman went top of Division Two after winning a seven-goal thriller 4-3 against Tilehurst Club Reserves.

Maiden Place walloped cellar-dwellers 116 Exiles Reserves 9-2, Loxwood downed Brimpton Rangers 4-3, Whitley Athletic cruised past Park Villa 4-1 and Wokingham & Emmbrook smashed Forest FC 6-0.

Southcote Colts hammered Mortimer Reserves 8-3 in Division Three, while Delta Vigo and FC Showcase beat Toga Sports and AFC Pangbourne 3-1 respectively.

Division Four leaders South Reading eased past Sanctuary Strikers 3-0, while second-placed Theale brushed aside Borussia Teeth 4-1.

Burghfield Reserves won 4-3 at Caversham United, The Bugle beat Shinfield Rangers 3-1 and Calcot Royals were 2-0 victors against New England.

Pangbourne & Basildon Barbarians reached the semi finals of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win after a 1-1 draw with Penfold Rangers.
