Second-placed Eldon Celtic enjoyed a convincing 3-0 victory at AFC Burghfield, and Spencers Wood obliterated basement boys S.C. United 7-2.

Woodley United were unfortunate not to get a share of the points as they lost 4-3 at Polonia Reading.

The hosts went in front on three minutes, but Woodley replied quickly when a fine move from man-of-the-match Brodie Davies found Rob Timbers on the edge of the box and his curling shot soared into the top left hand corner. United went in front on 38 minutes when Ed Hill picked up the ball on the right-hand side from another pinpoint long-range pass from Davies, and he cut inside and squeezed his shot low to the far post to beat the diving keeper.

Woodley’s advantage was short lived as Polonia levelled before the break, and it looked like the game would end as a draw until the last 10 minutes when the hosts scored two breakaway goals.

Dan Blatchford gave Woodley hope with a late penalty after Timbers had been brought down in the box, but it was not enough to gain the much-needed point.
