HIGHMOOR Ibis were smashed 4-0 by Brimscombe & Thrupp in the Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

Marcus Richardson’s side last won at the start of December, and they endured another difficult day in Gloucestershire.

Dave Woodfield put the home side in front after just nine minutes, and they were 2-0 up midway through the half as Jack Holmes hit the target.

Brimscombe & Thrupp continued to dominate in the second half and added further goals from John Evans and Josh Jones, both coming in the final 10 minutes.

Ibis managed to pick up a point at home to Brackley Town Saints in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night, but the Rivermoor result extended Highmoor’s long winless run to 13 matches. They sit 14th in the table and eight points clear of the bottom two.

Highmoor Ibis travel to Lydney Town on Saturday (3pm).

Whitley Athletic overcame Division Three West basement boys Tilehurst Titans 2-1, while Twyford Comets hammered Fox & Hounds 8-0 in Division Four East.

In the Premier Division, AFC Pangbourne conceded their game at Richfield Rovers Reserves.
