BERKS County Reserves continued their sensational Division Three campaign with a 6-1 home victory against second-placed Harchester Hawks, writes Richard Ashton.

It was a 13th win from 13 games for the Swords, who are now 10 points clear of their nearest rivals.

Greg Rowley opened the scoring for the home side in the 11th minute, and Miles Keeley gave them breathing space by doubling the advantage nine minutes later.

County continued to dominate proceedings and moved further ahead early in the second half when George Lloyd hit the target, and a 65th-minute own goal made it 4-0 and all but put the game to bed.

Keeley added his second just a minute later as the Swords moved further ahead, and it became 6-0 when Sam Clark struck shortly after.

Harchester bagged a late consolation but they are now looking over their shoulders as they aim to cling on to the second promotion place.

No other games survived the adverse weather while all matches in the Premier Division were postponed due to overnight frost, leaving Marlow United – who have a game in hand – and Newbury level on 40 points at the top of the table. Reading YMCA, who sit two points back but with two games in hand on Marlow and three on Newbury, remain favourites to retain their title, however.

In Division One, Eldon Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the table with a 1-0 victory at Cookham Dean Reserves, while in the only other game to survive the frost, Reading YMCA Rapids ran riot at rock bottom AFC Corinthians, inflicting a 15th defeat from 16 games with an 8-2 drubbing.

White Eagles kept their Division Two title hopes alive with a dramatic 2-1 success at Barkham Athletic, Dawid Nagoda and substitute Michal Szulik scoring in the final 20 minutes to give the third-placed side all three points.

Eagles have 28 points from their 13 games, the same as leaders Finchampstead (played 12) and Westwood United Reserves (played 10).

The weather accounted for all games in Division Four.
