Meanwhile, Loxwood’s Industrial Cup run came to an end as they were eventually beaten 4-2 in extra time by runaway Division One leaders Le Galaxy.

In a tense quarter-final clash, Division Two Loxwood showed great character to come from behind twice to force overtime before finally being edged out.

Le Galaxy made the perfect start when they took the lead after just five minutes but Loxwood steadied the ship and deservedly levelled on the stroke of half time with a fine finish from Dan Pringle.

Early in the second half, Le Galaxy beat the offside trap to sneak into a 2-1 advantage but some superb saves from Loxwood keeper Tom McNelly kept his side in touch.

And with just seconds remaining before the final whistle, Loxwood’s determination paid off as Luke Giles curled in a dramatic last-gasp equaliser.

The first period of extra time remained tight and the tie looked to be heading towards penalties before Le Galaxy made it 3-2 and as Loxwood threw caution to the wind, the visitors broke clear to add a fourth right at the death.
